Talent Descriptions

Brawler

Talent slot requirement. Strength

Violence Asset. When you use an unarmed strike or blunt Weapon Asset for Violence, you can improve that Function’s Quality to equal your Strength modifier.

Might rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Might rank.

Potent Martial Artist

Talent slot requirement. Violence

Improved Potency. When you take the Eliminate or Hinder Actions using Violence, increase the Potency of that Action to 1.

Might rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Might rank.

Improved Fighting

Talent slot requirement. Violence

Might Boon. When you make an Eliminate (Violence) Check, you gain +1B Ability.

Might rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Might rank.

Repeatable. You may take this Talent any number of times, filling a different Talent slot each time.

Magical Projectiles

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any Grace, Cunning, or Guile Skill

Projectile Relic. When you use your Relic for Violence, you can launch projectiles out to a range of 15 meters (Range 2).

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Talent slot Skill’s Ability.

Magical Burst

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any Might, Intellect, or Confidence Skill

Area of Effect. When you use your Relic for Violence, you can affect targets of your choice in a room-sized area (Scope 1).

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Talent slot Skill’s Ability.

Skill Transmutation

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any, the chosen Skill becomes the “Replacing Skill” for this Talent

Swap Skill. Choose any Skill other than the Replacing Skill, it becomes the Replaced Skill. Whenever you use the Replaced Skill for a Check or Test while Transformed, you may replace the Skill modifier and Ability die for the Replaced Skill with the Replacing Skill’s modifier and its corresponding Ability die.

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Ability associated with the Replacing Skill chosen.

Repeatable. You may take this Talent any number of times. When you choose this Talent again, choose a different combination of Skills.

Magical Absorption

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any Endurance, Will, or Empathy Skill

Despair Absorption When you fill one or more Despair slots, you can expend 1 Energy to reduce the number of Despair slots filled by 1.

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Talent slot Skill’s Ability.

Repeatable. You may take this Talent up to five times. When you expend Energy to reduce Despair slots filled, reduce the number of Despair slots filled by a number equal to the times you have taken this Talent.

Magical Asset

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any, the chosen Skill becomes the “Source Skill” for this Talent

Asset. Choose an Action type. Your Relic gains a Function for the chosen Action type with a Quality equal to the Source Skill’s modifier.

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Ability associated with the Source Skill chosen.

Repeatable. You may take this Talent any number of times. When you choose this Talent again, choose a different combination of Skill and Action type.

After Effects

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any, the chosen Skill becomes the “Source Skill” for this Talent

Bonus Trait. Choose one of your Magical Affinities and describe a Temporary Neutral Trait related to that Magical Affinity. Whenever you invoke the chosen Affinity for a successful Check using the Source Skill, create the described Trait with a free invoke.

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Ability associated with the Source Skill chosen.

Repeatable. You may take this Talent any number of times. When you choose this Talent again, create a different Trait.

Binder

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any, the chosen Skill becomes the “Source Skill” for this Talent

Summon. You can use your Relic to conjure a magical ally to aid you. To do so, fill a number of Energy slots equal to the number of Functions the summon has (no Action required). This corporeal entity serves as an Ally Asset until your Transformation ends or its Integrity Counter fills, at which time it vanishes until you summon it again. Create a name and description for your summon.

Integrity. Your summon has an Integrity Counter with a number of slots equal to the number of Functions it has plus one. Each slot is worth 5 Integrity. Whenever you summon it, clear all filled Integrity slots.

Whenever you would be the target of a referee Action, the referee may target your summon instead. If the summon would suffer Despair, it expends that much Integrity instead.

If the summon gains any Temporary Traits or Wounds, clear them when it is next summoned.

Functions. When you choose this Talent, choose two Action types. Your summon gains Functions for the chosen Action types. Each Function has a Potency of 3 and a Quality equal to your rank in this Talent’s Source Skill. To use a Function of your Summon, you must fill an Integrity slot.

Range. Your summon can move independently from you and has the same senses as you. It conveys what it senses to you via telepathy. It can move at a walking pace. It can be up to 10 meters away from you at a time. If it attempts to move further away, it reappears at the nearest point within 10 meters.

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Ability associated with the Source Skill chosen.

Repeatable. You may take this Talent any number of times. When you choose this Talent again, you may choose one of your existing summons or create a new one. If you choose an existing summon, you may choose two additional Action types that summon can perform. The Energy cost of summoning it and its Integrity likewise increases.

Swarmcaller

(Magical Talent)

Talent slot requirement. Any, the chosen Skill becomes the “Source Skill” for this Talent

Summon. You can use your Relic to summon one or more magical minions to aid you. To do so, fill any number of unfilled Energy slots (no Action required). You create a number of corporeal entities equal to the number of Energy slots spent.

Trait Minions. Each summoned minion acts as a Temporary Neutral Trait. When your Transformation ends, clear all Traits created this way. When you invoke one of these Traits, increase the Potency of the Action by 1, to a maximum of 3.

Range. Whenever you take an Action, you can move one of your minions to a location within 10 meters of yourself. You can make a Utilize Action using the Source Skill for this Talent to move any number of your minions on a success.

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Ability associated with the Source Skill chosen.

Called It

Talent slot requirement. Intuition

Replace Die. At each Minor Milestone, roll a d10, called your “Lucky Die”. Whenever you roll one or more d10s, you may replace up to one of those d10s with the result of your Lucky Die. Once you use this feature in this way, you cannot do so again until the next Minor Milestone.

Confidence rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Intuition rank.

Quick

Talent slot requirement. Agility

Improved Potency. When you take the Traverse Action using Agility, increase the Potency of that Action to 1.

Might rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Might rank.

Leader

Talent slot requirement. Authority

Confidence Boon. When you make an Influence (Authority) Check, you gain +1B Confidence.

Leadership Boon. When you’re the Leader of a Cooperation Check, you gain +1B Circumstance.

Confidence rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Confidence rank.

Decoy

Talent slot requirement. Agility

Swap Out. When you would suffer Despair from a physical source, you may redirect it to a decoy instead by invoking a Positive or Neutral Trait you have created. If you do, clear the Trait.

Grace rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Grace rank.

Puppeteer

Talent slot requirement. Manipulation

Skill Swap. When you make an Empathy (Networking) Check, you may use Guile (Manipulation) instead.

Extra. When you score a Hit or better on a Guile (Manipulation) Check, if your goal is to request a favor, you gain an Extra.

Guile rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 Guile rank.

Remote Viewing

Talent slot requirement. Awareness or Research, the chosen Skill becomes the “Source Skill” for this Talent.

Remote Viewing. While Transformed, you can remotely view a location you’re aware of using your sight out to a range of 50 m.

Ability rank increase. When you take this Talent, you gain +1 rank in the Ability associated with the Source Skill chosen.
