Hope
Hope is a quantification representation of what makes a protagonist truly special: their courage, optimism, and conviction. Hope fuels Trait invocations and certain features. Each protagonist has a 5 slot Hope Resource Counter. Each slot is worth 1 Hope.
Spending Hope
Protagonists can spend Hope to invoke Traits. Some features provide additional uses for Hope. Hope can also be spent to decrease a protagonist’s Despair (see Despair).
Regaining Hope
At each Major Milestone, each protagonist clears their filled Hope slots. A protagonist may also regain Hope by compelling Traits.
Protagonists may gain Temporary Hope by gaining Negative Connections to other protagonists.
